Tadiandamol Trek – Trekking as an adventure activity

Tadiandamol

Introduction

The madness for trekking as an adventure activity is growing steadily in recent times and so are the number of trekking destinations. Tadiandamol Trekking allows a person to spend some time in the lap of mother nature and relax from this busy life full of stress and anxiety.

Today I am going to tell you about one of the secret and pretty less known but amazing trekking destination i.e. Tadiandamol trek.

About:

The third-highest peak in Karnataka is Tadiandamol, which is a well-liked South Indian trekking destination. Within the renowned Shola forest of Karnataka, Tadiandamol rises to a height of 1780 metres. I chose to climb Tadiandamol on my second trip to Coorg, and it was yet another thrilling trekking adventure.

I visited Coorg in January 2019 and wrote about its tourism attractions. Well, rather than returning to the same locations repeatedly, I like to discover new areas of a place when I visit it again. I knew when I was planning the schedule that this time the focus had to be on unusual locations.

From Nishani Motte & Mandalpatti to Tadiandamol, there are a tonne of possibilities for hiking close to Coorg.

How to reach  the trekking basepoint:

From the major Karnataka cities of Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, and others, there are a number of  buses that travel to Coorg. The Tadiandamol Trek’s starting point is 35 kilometres from the bus stop, which is located in Madikeri’s major town. You must either hire a private cab because there is no public transportation to the base point. There are no airports or train stations in Coorg. The closest railway  stations are in Mysore and Mangalore, both 117 and 135 kilometres away. The two closest airports, both 144 KM and 132 KM away, are likewise in the same cities. Once more, from the aforementioned cities, you must take a taxi or a bus to get to Coorg.

Best place for staying before trekking:

The starting site for the Tadiandamol Trek is at Nalknad Palace, which is 35 kilometres from Madikeri Bus Stand. Since there is no public transportation to the Nalknad Palace and you must take a taxi  to get there if you are only going for the trip, I would suggest staying in Madikeri. Finding one will be simpler in the main town than anywhere else. However, if you have plans to travel to other places too then  you may want to think about staying in other places.

Best time for trekking:

Tadiandamol is best scaled between October and February. The monsoon season ends after September, so there will be greenery everywhere. Please refrain from visiting during the monsoon, which makes trekking a bit extreme  in this area.

Every important stuff :

  • The trek’s total distance, to and from the base at Nalknad Palace, is 12 KM. Depending on your pace, you may do the entire route in 6-7 hours. Anytime between 8:30 and 9:30 in the morning is a good time to start.
  • You have to return by 3 pm after entering the area of the forest as the probability of wild animals attacking increases during the night since this place (Shola forest)has a proportional amount of wild animals. Start your walk early in order to arrive on time.

About the trek:

Three kilometres from the base point, there is a checkpoint in a forested area. Here you can get information about the route of the trek so you don’t need to worry much about losing the way.  You will finally discover that there were no possible turns for you to have missed, and the trail is clearly marked, which will give you confidence while trekking.

Also Kedarkantha trek from Delhi, its amazing too.

Experience at the peak:

The Tadiandamol Hill and its surroundings will be ready to welcome you after traversing this terrain and are closer to the peak. You will soon be standing on the mountain, where a sign reading “Tadiandamol Peak- 0 KM” is posted. Additionally, I can guarantee that viewing the hoarding will make you feel nostalgic.

Conclusion:

I won’t pretend the walk was simple; it takes a lot of endurance and patience. But the sights were worth all the suffering and suffering through. On the peak, you can take pictures or simply take in the breathtaking scenery. You will not find many hikers during the morning time so start your journey at the earliest to an advantage of the calmness of the peak when you are alone.
