An area rug can make or break the design aesthetic of your space. If you get it right, it will complement and accentuate every other piece of furniture in the room, and leave your guests in awe at how gorgeous your home is. However, if you pick the wrong rug, the whole room will suffer from its placement and design flaws. To help you figure out what to look for in an area rug, we’ve put together these tips on how to pick the perfect rug for your space.
What to look for
There are many different factors that you should consider when deciding which rug is right for you. So, here are some key factors to keep in mind as you explore your options:
1) Size. Take into consideration whether or not the rug will be placed on a hardwood, carpeted, or shaggy type of flooring and then measure your room to find out what size rug would work best.
2) Type of Rug. Different rugs may be better suited depending on whether you have children, pets, allergies, or just want a specific pattern!
3) Price. Don’t forget about how much money you are willing to spend before shopping around!
4) Location – How close is your nearest Rugs For Sale?
How deep should your rug be?
Rugs can be a great way to bring color and texture into your space, but you should always consider how deep your rug should be. This is especially important when you have kids or pets that might not know better than to try and play with their new rug. If you have pets, it’s also important to remember that they may scratch at the rug if it’s too close to the floor and this can cause damage over time. You should also measure any furniture near where you plan on putting your rug so that you don’t end up buying a rug that is too small. Finally, if your furniture is light in color, then it might be best to go with a dark colored rug because dark colors are usually less likely to show dirt more quickly than lighter colors.
Where do you start looking?
The first step in finding the perfect rug for your space is deciding what type of rug you want. There are a variety of rugs to choose from and each has a different look and feel. Some popular types of rugs are plush, flat woven, wool, or sisal. Once you decide on a type of rug then it’s time to start looking at styles and colors. Colors should reflect your style so if you prefer modern furnishings then go with black or white rugs but if you’re more traditional then go with browns or beige carpets.
Where should rugs go in your home?
Rugs are a great way to add texture and warmth to your space. They come in all shapes, sizes, and colors, so it’s easy to find one that fits your style and space. Whether you’re looking for a small rug for under a desk or a large one to fill an entire room, we have something that’s perfect for you.
If you plan on eating at home often, it might be good to get a rug with some cushioning underneath your feet and chairs so that your floors stay clean.
Add some color or texture by putting rugs in entryways or hallways.
Don’t forget about hallways!
Hallways are often overlooked when thinking about rugs, but they can be just as important as any other space in your bathroom renovation Dubai. Hallways are a place where people often come into contact with dirt and debris that comes off of shoes, so it’s a good idea to choose rugs with stain resistant fibers. You want to make sure that the rug is made from natural fibers like wool or cotton because synthetic fibers like polyester will easily show wear and tear. It’s always a good idea to order two rugs, just in case one gets dirty before you have time to change it out. For large hallways, we recommend getting a runner rug so you don’t have to worry about tripping over anything!
Pet considerations
Rugs are always a great way to add a little something extra to your space. The first thing you should consider is whether or not you have pets (because some rugs can be harmful if ingested). For those of us who do have furry friends, we’ll want to make sure that the rug doesn’t shed, isn’t too rough on their paws, and won’t cause them to slip. One of my favorite options is an organic wool rug because it has excellent durability and resists stains and pet hair. If you don’t want a wool rug, there are other synthetic options that are just as good like New Zealand sheep’s wool and polypropylene.
Four ways to keep your rug clean
1. Keep dirt at bay with a rug pad. Rug pads are slipcovers that can be fitted to any size rug, and help keep it in place and protect against spills or stains.
2. Keep your carpets clean with vinegar: Fill a spray bottle with half white vinegar and half water. Spray down your carpet with the solution and use a rag to wipe up any residue left on the surface of your rug.
3. Clean spills right away: Spend a few minutes each day vacuuming or sweeping up dirt, hair, dust mites, food particles, dander and other debris from your flooring to prevent these things from building up on your rug’s surface and making it more difficult to remove them later on.
