Life is full of ups and downs, problems, miseries and adversity. We cannot expect a life without problems. Life will throw shits on us but it’s our responsibility how we take it and react to it. There can be good days, bad days or even worst days in our life. It depends on us how we deal with those situations. We cannot feel best all the time and this is the harsh truth. We have to deal with stress, anxiety, depression, and lack of motivation as well. But let me tell you in such times our choices will define our life. It’s completely our responsibility to change such negative feelings and circumstances into positive energies. This shift of energy has the power to make you feel better instantly and you will be able to handle life in a better way.
Here are a few things that you can do to make yourself feel better when you are feeling down. I would never know what circumstances you are in and what kind of feeling you are dealing with but these tips that I have listed below are not all but a few will surely help you in some situations to feel better.
Take a break-
Life is a race if you will not run fast you will be left behind. This is the most famous dialogue of a popular professor we all know and we have taken this very seriously. But life is not a hundred or eight hundred meter race, it’s a relay race. You cannot win this race all by yourself. You have to divide the responsibility and take breaks in between to rejuvenate yourself. There is no hard and fast rule in life. So take breaks and frequently. This break will depend on your choice, how you want it, not what people say breaks look like.
Do your favorite activity-
Try doing things that you love. It can be anything from painting to dancing, yoga or whatever you prefer is therapeutic to you. Doing these activities will release happy hormones in your body and it has a magical effect on stress and anxiety.
Listen to relaxing music-
Music is a therapy and it acts well on the mind. At any point in time if you are not feeling good about your life you can put on your earphones and play soothing music which can calm your senses. You can listen to instrumental music also.
Eat your favorite food-
Food has the power to uplift the mood. You can also try this if you are feeling low. You can order or cook your favorite food. You can send flowers to Kolkata also.
Journal-
Journaling is considered a great way to deal with life stresses. Sometimes we have so much in our mind that it makes us feel overwhelmed. So writing down your thoughts will give you clarity and you will feel relaxed. You don’t have to be perfect while journaling. You can just randomly pour your mind all into a sheet of paper.
Go out in nature-
Nature is the greatest healer and the best part is that it is free for everyone. You can take a brisk walk in the garden if you are not feeling good or find it difficult to focus. You can sit on your balcony and watch the sunset or sunrise. This will also give you a sense of calmness.
Cry your heart out-
Yes, you heard it right. Some emotions are so difficult to handle that no therapy and any other act helps. So it is better to cry and let those emotions vent out through tears. Crying is beneficial and it will make you feel light. Crying releases oxytocin which will make you feel good.
Declutter-
Decluttering helps in getting clarity. If you are overwhelmed with thoughts or you are too stressed out then I would recommend you try decluttering your space. Trust me it will feel the space with positive energy and you will automatically start feeling better. Put fresh flowers in the vase for positive vibes.
Talk to someone-
Having a conversation with someone can make you feel good about yourself. You can talk to a friend or a family member.
